Leeds software company, NewRedo, has been appointed on a new project with leading sporting event platform, RaceBest, to bolster its virtual offering with brand new features following £7K virtual fundraising success.
Racebest, which has over 50,000 users a month, has made the decision to invest in its platform’s virtual offering following the success of various virtual races hosted. This includes the NHS Heroes Virtual Run which raised £1.5K and the Blaydon Race which saw athletes compete on a 6 mile run, raising an incredible £3.5K for the Metro Radio’s Cash For Kids initiative.
NewRedo director, Royd Brayshay, explained of the new project: “With charities being hit hard in the recent months, it’s vital that platforms such as RaceBest, that support life-changing fundraising activities, continue to provide an engaging experience for users to encourage these important charity events to take place.
We were thrilled to be approached by the company following the success of their recent virtual event, and we look forward to developing some unique features for the platform to support further virtual fundraising success in the future.”
RaceBest director, Martin Browne, explained further: “After months of runners desperate to race, but unable to do so due to social distancing restrictions, we’ve started to see a burst of activity around virtual races. These races have been around for some time but it wasn’t until recently that they’ve been truly embraced by the running community.
What’s exciting is that virtual races have really opened the door to more runners competing. Those who previously may have avoided in-person races for fear of not being good enough have now embraced this option, giving them an opportunity to test their capabilities and get involved without those fears. Virtual races have also been incredibly successful in raising crucial funds for charities.
It’s become apparent to us that, whilst virtual functionality is available on RaceBest, there is a greater opportunity to add further features to put us at the forefront of this growing market, so we’re looking forward to announcing these very soon!”
