Here at TopicUK we just get busier and busier, so much so we have a new member of staff joining us in early November. More news on that later.
As we start work on the next issue, I am writing an article about my stay at the beautiful Raithwaite Estate near Whitby. I have stayed there before but this time was different as we took up residency in a cottage. Read the full review in our next edition.
We have now become members of Welcome To Yorkshire and we are looking forward to working with them and their members on our sister publication Urban Market that launched in August. Copies of this ran out within days, so do look out for the next edition at the end of November.
Some time ago I was asked to become a school’s Enterprise Ambassador. Circumstances made this slow, but I am now delighted that I have been made an ambassador with Outwood Grange Academy, a place I am familiar with as my daughter attended there, achieving incredible A-level results.
As a Gin lover, I was delighted when Ellie MacDonald from MacComms invited me to a Gin tasting event at Victoria Casino Leeds. We spent the evening enjoying a selection of Gin and Tonic’s, whilst listening to interesting facts about the spirit. Thanks also to Ellie for being my guest at the Christmas menu launch for the Dakota Deluxe. We enjoyed a fabulous evening in their Grill sampling the new festive menu which is delicious. Don’t just take our word for it, book your place it’s just £25 for two courses and £30 for three.
Last week we were delighted to support The Yorkshire Society for their annual awards. As a guest of Sir Rodney and Lady Anne Walker, I was thrilled to see so many Yorkshire people awarded for their achievements and as this was the 30th anniversary of The Yorkshire Awards, we were helped to celebrate by ITV Calendar and BBC Look North and were joined by the lovely Christine Talbot and Harry Gration. TopicUK will be working with The Yorkshire Society going forward and were delighted to see Ben Davis receive a lifetime award for his achievement of walking around the perimeter of Yorkshire! There will be a special Yorkshire Society presentation to Ben on 24th October by the Lord Mayor of Leeds at Civic Hall. You can read all about Ben in our next edition.
On the same night, we were also media partners across town at Dock Hall for The Children of Courage Awards. We were represented at the dinner by Mandy Taylor. Again more of that in our next edition.
Last night I was at the press launch of Cilla the Musical at Leeds Grand Theatre, what an incredible performance by all the cast. If you haven’t booked do so, it’s only on until 20 October, but I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed!
Finally, thank you to Richard and Mona Norman for once again having us as their media partner at the Brand Yorkshire Conference. It was busier than ever this year and we met lots of fabulous new businesses whilst being able to promote all of our partners. We’ll be back there again next year!
