I was lucky enough last month to be invited to The Manor House Lindley for a show around of this new boutique hotel and enjoy a most delightful dinner. Thank you to Jaine and Mark for the invitation, what a fabulous place, but I’m not giving details away here, you can read about it in our forthcoming edition due out shortly, or better still, pay a visit for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
This was a welcome treat because the TopicUK team had spent the day promoting our new publication Urban Market. This free publication talks about everything food and drink that can be bought right here on our doorstep in Yorkshire. We are talking to readers about the benefits of buying fresh local food for their health, the economy and of course because it tastes amazing. Explaining how easy it is to grow your own food, even if you only have a window sill or a few containers and introducing readers to the wonderful artisan bakers and cheesemakers right here in Yorkshire. The newspaper is free and can be picked up at farm shops, garden centres and other quality outlets across Yorkshire. Or, you can check out the digital version online at www.urbanmarket.uk.
I was delighted to again be invited to the ladies networking lunch at the Dakota Deluxe Hotel Leeds at the beginning of the month. This fantastic event costs just £20 for a quality 2 course lunch with a glass of fizz on arrival. Lots of ladies from across the region attend and there is always a quality speaker, this time it was the styling team from Harvey Nichols bringing along a fabulous range of seasonal fashions.
I am lucky enough to be returning to Raithwaite Hall near Whitby to write a second review. I was last there in February and although the hotel, restaurant and grounds were fabulous, as you an imagine in February it was freezing cold. This time, we have been invited to stay in one of the beautiful cottages and sample afternoon tea. Hopefully the weather will be a little warmer. You’l be able to read all about the experience in our December edition.
Another couple of events coming up are a presentation to Ben Davis, the incredible guy who has just completed a walk around the perimeter of Yorkshire. I am lucky enough to work alongside the Yorkshire Society who have arranged a Civic Reception for Ben, where the Lord Mayor of Leeds will present him with a lifetime honorary membership of the Yorkshire Society.
Brand Yorkshire is now just a few weeks away and once again TopicUK are official media partners. If you’re coming along on 4 October to Harrogate Pavilions, do drop by and say hello.
