Well Met Mark 10 Years in Business

Autumn 2017 marks Well Met’s 10th birthday and there’s plenty to celebrate for the Leeds Beckett University conference team as they mark the occasion with a birthday party on Tuesday 10th October at Cloth Hall Court.

First and foremost, the opening of Cloth Hall Court this summer; a dedicated state-of-the-art conferencing facility located in the heart of Leeds City Centre, which is the latest addition to Well Met’s conferencing portfolio. The Grade II listed Cloth Hall Court underwent a significant £4.5 million refurbishment, transforming the former cloth hall site into a fantastic conferencing venue with flexible and dynamic work spaces.

The standalone conference venue boasts a capacity of 2 – 300 delegates and has been designed with the building’s heritage in mind. Situated within the thriving Leeds Business community and just two minutes’ walk from Leeds railway station; the facility is set to become a hub for business and enterprise in the city.

The launch of Cloth Hall Court is the latest achievement of many during the conference team’s 10 year history; having received numerous accolades and awards including being the first University to receive the prestigious GOLD Accredited in Meetings (AIM) certification. Leading the way in providing exceptional customer service within conferencing and events, the team are also holders of the coveted ‘Investors in People Gold’ accreditation, putting them within the top 7% of accredited organisations nationwide.

Well Met have hosted a diverse range of conferences including the UKs largest teacher training conference, the Teach First Summer Institute for two consecutive terms, the Stonewall Workplace Equality Conference and the Visual Media Conference to name a few. With the addition of Cloth Hall Court to the portfolio of venues, Well Met are now looking to capitalise on the city centre location and fantastic facilities to welcome new customers to Leeds.

Clare Vidler, Conference Manager at Well Met comments: “In 10 years we’ve gone from a small extension of the University to being an independent, 12 strong team with a dedicated conference venue in the heart of the city. It’s incredible to think that the majority of the team have been here from the very beginning and have seen Well Met grow to where we are today, as a major player in Leeds and in the wider UK conference scene. With Leeds being named 5th best UK conferencing city this year, the confidence we have in this sector continues to grow – so it’s poignant that we’ve hit the 10 year milestone with a brand new venue under our belts and an extremely positive outlook for the next year.”

Well Met are inviting customers and friends to their 10th birthday celebration and Cloth Hall Court launch party on Tuesday 10th October from 4pm – 8pm. With a selection of drinks, delicious canapes and entertainment on offer, plus the opportunity to explore Cloth Hall Court at your leisure.
