Wakefield Business Week has started!

Wakefield Business Week has begun with a packed programme of events highlighting global opportunities, job creation, entrepreneurs, and investment in the district, and started with a Leadership Breakfast at Kings Croft Hotel, Pontefract on 13 June, focusing on Wakefield’s global ambitions.

The event is organised by Wakefield first and Wakefield Bondholders, Wakefield Council and Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and partnered by TopicUK.

At Wakefield Business Week, partners will deliver a schedule of events seminars, and speakers as well as the Wakefield MY Conference which are all aimed at supporting Wakefield’s business community in creating new networks, generating sales and promoting the district as the place to do business.

Businesses from all over the district can get involved to discuss the future of Wakefield on a regional, national and international scale.


“We want to see more jobs, more opportunities and more investment in our district. This year’s programme is designed to stretch ambitions and to act as a catalyst for the district’s public and private sector to identify and capitalise on the many opportunities available to business.

A wide range of other seminars will be taking place including advice and tips on communications for business, planning for future business growth, cyber security and indepth advice for the retail and hospital industries.
