TV chef joins up with Iris restaurant for an Easter treat

A top Wakefield restaurant has joined forces with a well-known TV Chef to provide an exclusive evening of fine dining.

Iris restaurant’s Liam Duffy and MasterChef quarter-finalist Chris Hale have designed a special menu which promises to showcase the “best of British food.”
Chris, 30, who has set up Pop Up North catering company, since appearing on the popular BBC show, said: “I’ve been popping up restaurants across Europe over the past year and I have been learning from some top chefs all over the world, so I wanted to bring some of my exciting creations to my home turf and, what better place to do this than Iris restaurant?”

Chris who lives in Sandal said that it is thanks to his loyal following in the city that his business has boomed since impressing the likes of TV judges John Torode and Greg Wallace.

The Father-of-two said: “MasterChef was a brilliant starting block for me and I’ve continued to learn and grow since the show. I’m really excited to offer a one-off six-course taster menu, which our guests can experience right in the heart of the city centre.”

The event which takes place on Easter Sunday will also be using the best of local produce. Liam Duffy who runs the award-winning-restaurant, is well renowned as one of the finest chefs in the county and he has built a reputation for wonderful, locally sourced British cuisine.
