Talent United is an employer engagement initiative created by Barnsley College which aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by providing work based opportunities such as work placements, workplace tours, live projects, workshops, mentoring, guest speaking events as well as the opportunity to drive changes within the curriculum.
Jenny Gedlek, Head of the Work Based Learning team at Barnsley College, said: “In today’s economic climate and working culture, it’s important that students leave the college with the skills they need to flourish in employment. Talent United is a gateway for employers to get involved and help shape the future workforce as well as pass on vital knowledge that they need in order to grow.
“The networking event is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to come along and meet our team as well as networking with other companies.”
Businesses across the region are welcome to join the initiative. For further information or to join Talent United, contact Barnsley College’s Work Based Learning Team on +44 (0)1226 216 166, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit www.barnsley.ac.uk.
