Meadowhall makeover promises to get you “race ready” for this year’s fund-raiser
Ladies who enter this summer’s Race for Life at Meadowhall could have a whole new spring in their step with a fantastic opportunity to win a top to toe makeover, including a new running kit, to make sure they stand out at the starting line!
Meadowhall has teamed up with fashion retailer Accessorize, which has just launched a new fitness range, to offer one of our inspirational runners the chance to revamp their look for the big race on Sunday July 9. The fitness package includes a new running kit, as well as a make-over with Urban Decay at Debenhams and a series of fitness training sessions, courtesy of the new Meadowhall Trib3 gymnasium concept in the run up to the big day.
Meadowhall is inviting any women who have entered to get in touch and tell us why they are running, along with a picture of themselves. Meadowhall will share some of the inspirational stories on Facebook and one lucky winner will be chosen ahead of the race so they can be transformed in time for starter’s orders. Friends and family can also nominate someone who they feel deserves some recognition and a bit of pre-race pampering.
Every year thousands of women sign up for the Meadowhall race that sees mums, daughters, grandmas and friends, joining forces to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. The 5k route is incredibly popular and virtually everyone completes the challenge, whether that is by sprinting, jogging or simply walking it.
Meadowhall Centre Director, Darren Pearce, said: “This is always a brilliant fundraiser at the Centre for a great cause. We want to see even more runners sign up by July and hope our Meadowhall makeover will encourage ladies to step forward and share their stories with us.”
Emma Colbourne, from Cancer Research UK, added: “We love to hear why women enter Race for Life; whether they run in memory of someone, with friends and family or just for themselves.
“Often hearing a story from someone else is enough to inspire people to lace up their trainers and join us, so we hope these stories will do just that.”
To submit your story, upload an image or selfie if you have one, and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name and contact details. Closing date will be Friday June 30th.
Race for Life will be held at Meadowhall on Sunday July 9th from 9:30am. Registration is at: https://www.meadowhall.co.uk/news-events/events/meadowhall-race-life
