Rudding Park, Harrogate’s leading luxury hotel, is delighted to reveal that its £9.5 million spa development will launch on 2 May 2017. Twelve years in the making, Rudding Park Spa is set to significantly boost Yorkshire tourism by bringing a world destination spa to the region for the very first time. Drawing natural waters from the grounds of Rudding Park, Rudding Park Spa will recapture Harrogate’s spa town heritage and put the hotel firmly on the map as a leading destination spa, both in the UK and beyond.
Caroline Bayliss, Chairman of Visit Harrogate, has commented “As one of Harrogate’s largest employers in the Hospitality and Tourism industry, Rudding Park plays a crucial role in attracting visitors to the area and supporting the local economy. As in the 19th century the new Rudding Park Spa will once again put Harrogate at the forefront of European Spa Towns. It has to be Harrogate”.
Rudding Park Spa will introduce an extraordinary Roof Top Spa and Garden, the first of its kind in the UK. Designed by horticulturalist Matthew Wilson, the Roof Top Garden will provide a haven of peace and tranquillity for guests to experience the Garden Sauna Cabin, Sun Deck and Spa Bath, amongst beautiful trees, shrubs and plants. The Roof Top Spa features a Hydrotherapy Infinity Pool and Panoramic Sauna overlooking the landscaped grounds. Rudding Park Spa will also offer a series of unique Mind and Sense Zones, an indoor swimming pool, hair studio, manicure, pedicure and makeup bar, luxurious spa treatment suites, as well as a lifestyle and gift shop, whilst Horto will offer kitchen garden cuisine with seasonally inspired dishes using produce from Rudding Park Kitchen Garden.
Rudding Park is immensely proud to be supporting the Yorkshire region by generating both employment and business opportunities. Rudding Park Spa has sought to use local suppliers throughout its development, from architecture and construction through to sauna specialists and shopfitters. Rudding Park Spa has also created 50 new job opportunities across a range of roles including spa therapists, spa hosts and reception staff to chefs, restaurant service, housekeeping and gardeners.
Peter Banks, Managing Director said “Rudding Park has featured in the Top Three Hotels in the UK for ten consecutive years growing from 20 staff to 250 and £1m turnover to £15m. Rudding Park employees are the backbone, the heart and soul of the business.
