Christmas was brought to life especially for local schoolchildren on Thursday, as Meadowhall hosted a special VIP session of its bespoke theatrical Christmas experience.
Children from Tinsley Meadows Primary school were treated to an extra-special session with Meadowhall’s magical Reindeer Puppet Parade.
The parade, which is unique to the centre, features a family of incredibly realistic reindeer puppets which journey through the mall led by Santa Claus himself. The bespoke experience has been designed by the Associate Director and Associate Puppetry Director of Warhorse.
The astonishingly lifelike creatures, spanning seven feet in height, delighted students and staff with their breath-taking natural movements, unique personalities and reindeer sounds.
Darren Pearce, Centre Director at Meadowhall said: “The expertise which has gone into making the reindeer family is truly astounding.
“It was fantastic to see children from Tinsley Meadows meet our reindeer one-to-one. Seeing their faces light-up at such an enchanting one of a kind Christmas experience was brilliant.”
Sheffield-based support charity for parents with children with autism, Sparkle, will also be treated to a VIP session with the reindeer on December 7.
The imaginative event is running until 18 December with three 20 minute performances a day, Monday- Saturday (except Tuesdays) at 11.30, 4pm and 6pm, and Sundays at 11:30am and 4pm. Each will be announced by the captivating sound of reindeer bells ringing.
