Two business parks under construction in Doncaster will soon add 16 new industrial and warehousing units to the region’s commercial property market.

Platinum Park and Jubilee Park have been developed by Priority Space, backed by H.G. Sites, and stand adjacent to Avro Park, a development completed by the company in 2019, now fully-occupied.

The three business parks combined represent a £12 million investment at this site by Priority Space and deliver more than 120,000 sq. ft. of workspace across 6.3 acres, making this the company’s largest development in the UK.

Priority Space was founded by co-directors Lee Buchanan and Adam Richardson in 2012 and works across the north of the England and beyond. Its portfolio stretches from Hull to Hereford, and Darlington to Mansfield.

Director of Priority Space Lee Buchanan said: “Construction is going well at Platinum and Jubilee Parks and we look forward to completion bringing this, our largest development, to fruition.

“We’ve invested in Doncaster because we know there is demand for small and medium sized commercial property here and our aim is always to create high-quality and sustainable workplaces which stimulate local economic growth.”

Platinum Park, due for completion in spring, will provide 13 industrial units, ranging in size from 1,750 sq ft to 5,800 and Jubilee Park , due for completion in summer, will deliver three larger units, measuring 13,000, 16,000 and 30,000 sq ft.

Interest in buying the units, located off First Avenue, six miles from the city centre and close to the M1 and M18, is already strong with two units under offer and numerous enquires in hand.

Lee said: “We particularly like to see SMEs taking the opportunity to buy our units for their own use. Commercial property sales, rather than lets, are still quite rare in the speculative build market, and it’s an option we’re committed to delivering so that independent businesses can buy their own workspace if they want to.

“We often witness that owning their own premises enables businesses to confidently invest in growth more quickly.”

A diverse range of companies have based their businesses at Priority Space sites across the UK and fully-customised their units to meet their needs, including a specialist craft supplier, dog hydrotherapy clinic, homeware wholesaler and family engineering company.

Platinum Park and Jubilee Park were named last year in honour of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne, and Doncaster’s being granted city status to mark that occasion.

Priority Space is based in Sheffield and works closely with local authorities and government agencies to ensure the spaces they develop meet the requirements of local businesses and communities.
