Supporters and beneficiaries of a Sheffield-based charity were recently given the opportunity to visit Buckingham Palace in London for a reception and meal.
Endeavour, a charity working with disadvantaged young people, was invited by their patron HRH the Duke of Kent and used it as an opportunity to say thank you to some of their volunteers and supporters.
Seven young people who have attended Endeavour’s Education Centre went to London to represent the charity and mingle with the Duke and other guests, sharing their experiences and talking about how Endeavour had supported them. One young person, Vince, even gave a presentation to the whole room telling his moving story of his return to full time education and progression to college thanks to support from Endeavour.
After the reception, the young people enjoyed a tour of London whilst Endeavour’s supporters headed to the Chinese Dining room for a meal with the Duke.
Patrick Callingham, Head of Education at Endeavour said: “Going to London and visiting the Palace was awesome for our learners. Not only was it a once in lifetime experience visiting the Palace, it was a huge boost for their confidence mixing with our supporters and sharing their stories with everyone. They are still buzzing from the experience!”
