An expert walking guide and mountain leader dedicated to helping more people explore the ‘Floor de Yorkshire’ has created a brand new walk route and challenge.
The Yorkshire Dales Challenge Weekend is aimed at businesses across Yorkshire, with a view to raising money for charity.
Mark Killala, of Northern Guiding, has created the challenge that will take place over the weekend of September 24th and 25th.
Participants will walk Yorkshire’s Three Peaks – Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – completing this first part of the challenge, which covers 24 miles, in just 12 hours on day one.
Day two challenges participants to tackle Wharfedale’s Three Peaks – Great Whernside Buckden Pike and Firth Fell – where they will cover 18 miles in 10 hours.
“The challenge is ideal for companies who may have already done the Three Peaks Challenge in the past and now want to conquer something bigger and better.
“There’s an option of an overnight stop in a self-catering hostel, and the trip is a great opportunity for team building, or a very alternative means of corporate entertainment!”
£5 from each booking goes to the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.
