It was the first time I have attended Kirklees Conference, but yesterday was a real eye opener. I was surprised at the number of people attending and the amount of business that was done!
I’d like to thank TopicUK advisory board member Rachel Rowling from Yorkshire Telecommunications who came along and helped me. Our stand was so busy, I wouldn’t have managed to speak to everyone who was queueing at one stage!
When did TopicUK get so popular in Kirklees & Calderdale?
Last week I attended the Wakefield Hospice ladies lunch at the Cedar Court Hotel, another great success for Helen Knowles and her team and Sherrie Hewson was so funny and entertaining, she may even make it onto our cover!!
It’s a busy time here at the moment, people must be emerging for spring. I’m delighted to have been invited to the Carnegie Stadium on Friday night as a guest of Chadwick Lawrence to watch Leeds Rhino’s and Wakefield Trinity! Now who to support, a Leeds lass who has lived in Wakefield for 30 years!
I’m also looking forward to lunch on Tuesday when I meet Christa Ackroyd to find out what she’s been up to since leaving our screens on BBC Look North. Christa and I will also be sampling the delights of The Botanist in Leeds to review in our next edition.
Speaking of Leeds, our new, well not so new now, edition has surpassed all expectations. We are delighted how the Leeds businesses have embraced the concept of TopicUK and supported it. We’ve already doubled its circulation so have a much wider reach and I think it won’t be long before it’s doubled again!
There’s just time to get booked for next week’s TopicTapas.
