Huddersfield-based PR and marketing agency Wild PR has been shortlisted for the Connect Yorkshire Business Awards 2022 in the Community Impact category.

The Connect Yorkshire Business Awards will take place at The Royal Armouries, Leeds, on the 30th of November, 2022. The first-ever awards event for the non-profit organisation will be held to recognise the local business community of Yorkshire and the surrounding areas.

At the event, Connect Yorkshire aims to celebrate the hard work and dedication of local businesses and has hand-picked nominees at their discretion from the existing Connect Yorkshire network of businesses.

Wild PR is among six other businesses nominated for the Community Impact award sponsored by Yorkshire Children’s Charity. The category celebrates businesses that have had a noticeable impact on the local community.

A panel of expert judges made up of the Connect Yorkshire Entrepreneurs in Residence has chosen the shortlist for each of the eight categories. Following the surprise nominations, those shortlisted were then required to submit further details as to why they believed they would be a worthy winner.

Speaking on the shortlist, founder and managing director of Wild PR, Katrina Cliffe, said: “Wild PR has always had a focus on supporting local business in many ways. This includes providing discounted and pro-bono social media and PR activity to help local companies such as Conscious Youth CIC and Uniform Exchange, which are organisations set up to provide support for young people within Yorkshire.

“I was also thrilled to launch Huddersfield Business Week in 2019 to encourage Huddersfield businesses to utilise each other and create a more profitable area for all businesses involved!

“We have also supported the Yorkshire community by providing opportunities for education for young people in the local area, including our three apprentices who have completed their studies along with full-time work and the numerous work placements we have provided and continue to offer to local young adults to help kick-start their career. We are looking forward to the awards to network with and celebrate other local businesses; good luck to all other nominees!”

Wild PR’s purpose is to create growth opportunities for the clients they work with through digital PR, social media management and digital marketing, including many local businesses in and around Yorkshire, with the hope of increasing the opportunities and profile of Yorkshire businesses overall.
