Avant Homes West Yorkshire has started construction on a nine-acre site near Barnsley to deliver 113 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £28m.
Located on Hay Green Lane between Tankersley and Birdwell, the development will comprise a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes and feature 12 of Avant Homes’ house types.
Called Hay Green Park, the development received planning permission in March this year. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately two and a half years.
Of the 113 homes being built, 10 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed to a community contribution of around £970,000 to support local primary and secondary education, a sustainable travel plan and open green space.
The showhome is due to open in October with the first homes set to be ready for occupation in November.

The Wakefield-based business is part of the Avant Homes Group which currently operates across the Midlands, north of England and Scotland from eight regional operating businesses.
