Five-time Queen’s Awards winner, Harrison Spinks, has accrued another national award, taking the title of ‘Bed Manufacturer of the Year’ at the 2022 National Bed Federation Awards.

Leeds-based Harrison Spinks, a 5th generation family business founded in 1840, scooped the coveted award for its continued commitment to sustainability. Judges commended the company for its product innovation, developments in sustainability and credited its growth both domestically and internationally.

Judges commended Harrison Spinks for, “A strong all round performance which delivered growth while maintaining lead times through a challenging market, for strengthening their sustainability credentials and ongoing innovation”.

As well as its Queen’s Awards – which includes the prestigious Sustainable Development accolade – Harrison Spinks was the first in the sector to partner with British Wool on its traceable wool scheme, which certifies that all its materials are from traceable British farms and ethically sourced from its own local 300-acre farm in North Yorkshire.

Earlier this year the business became the UK’s largest grower of hemp having expanded its farming capacity adding 80 acres of land in North Yorkshire allowing it to produce in excess of 1,000 tonnes of hemp straw annually.
