RJC Plant Services Ltd, the local waste collection firm based in Church Fenton, has announced a special festive fundraiser to collect presents for children in need as part of the Mission Christmas appeal.

On Thursday 6th December, the firm will be taking part in the ‘ RJC Jolly Drive-Thru’ to collect present donations from the local community. The drive thru will begin in Church Fenton, stopping outside Kirk Fenton Primary School at 4.30pm where school children will greet them with Christmas carols. The team will move on to the next collection point at the Blacksmith’s Arms and then onto Cawood, where the children from Cawood Primary School will welcome them with more Christmas songs at 5.30pm.

Zena Jackson, company secretary at RJC said: “We know that many families have found this year extremely challenging, and there will be lots of children who won't have presents to open on Christmas Day. We wanted to do something for the children of North and West Yorkshire and the Mission Christmas appeal is a great campaign to support.

We’ll have elves and Santa himself involved in the collection and we’re looking forward to the local community joining us and cheering on the team as we drive through the villages collecting donations.”

The Mission Christmas appeal collects gifts and donations for children from birth to 18. All donations are to be new gifts and unwrapped.

RJC will be collecting donations on Thursday 6th December ready to hand over to Mission Christmas HQ.
