Boden Plumbers celebrated their 60th year in business with a day at Filey Golf Club. The day started with a round of golf for 48 people including employees, family, friends and suppliers before continuing into the evening with a buffet and entertainment when over 100 more people joined the golfers to celebrate the company’s Diamond Anniversary.
Bill Boden, 83, Boden’s Founder, hit the first golf shot at 12.30pm to mark the start of the day and though he did not play golf he was driven around the course by one of his grandchildren who was playing.
‘My Dad first came to Filey to carry out plumbing work on a building site that is now the Wharfedale estate’ Steve Boden, who took over the plumbing business from his Father nearly a decade ago, states. ‘He liked it so much that he persuaded my Mum to move from Rotherham where they lived to set up Boden Plumbers.’
Boden Plumbers now have 9 full-time employees and 2 sub-contractors who work with them regularly. ‘Our longest serving member of staff has been with us for 49 years and I have worked in the business since I left school.’ Steve adds. ‘We are very grateful to all the customers that have given us work over the years, some have been with us for a very long time.’
