A recent report from GoDaddy’s venture forward research initiative showed Calderdale as the fastest growing area for small businesses in the UK and Chair of Business for Calderdale Nick Worsnop isn’t surprised.

“When you look at the combination of the new commercial landscape combined with the issues businesses are facing such as increase in fuel and supply costs and customer demand in the cost-of-living crisis, it’s easy to see why Calderdale is such a popular place for small businesses. I believe it isn’t only the transport and infrastructure in our borough that is attractive, it’s our culture and mindset too. Calderdale is renowned for its resilience and kindness. There are so many businesses who have faced issues and have bounced back, plus we want to see each other succeed and that’s why we support local businesses. Add into the mix that we have a reputation for innovation and entrepreneurship, it’s not surprising that these small businesses deliver excellence enabling them to grow and compete internationally.

“We received hundreds of nominations for our inaugural Business for Calderdale Awards last year and it’s a privilege to enable businesses to get the recognition they deserve. Nominations for this years Awards which will be held on 11th October 2023 at The Venue, Barkisland are now open and you can submit your nomination at www.https://businessforcalderdale.co.uk/awards/ by 8th June 2023.”
