Sam Hameed, co-founder and managing director of SPG Resourcing, said: "The UK is facing a significant skills gap in the technology sector, with two-thirds of businesses encountering a digital skills gap in their workforce and a recent study, 90% of respondents believe the tech talent shortage is worsening.

"The rapid growth of the UK's tech sector, valued at $1 trillion annually, has led to digital jobs being created nearly three times faster than in other sectors between 2011 and today. Addressing this skills gap is crucial for the continued success and growth of the UK's technology industry. The Chancellor should go much further to support the recruitment and training of the next generation of talent to ensure we remain one of the world leaders in the sector. Tax incentives could be introduced to help companies invest in talent, and funding should be made available to support young people through higher education and in-career learning.”
