Award winning dentist keeps patients smiling

Most people are terrified of the dentist, but one of the UK’s leading orthodontists wants their patients to overcome this.

Yorkshire based, Dr Catherine McCanny, originally qualified as a dentist but focussed on orthodontics after seeing young patients at her Wakefield practice quake in terror at the prospect of treatment.

Determined to help them enjoy better dental health and boost their confidence she has spent the last 20 years at her St Michael’s Orthodontics Practice developing new and innovative ways of treating patients from a variety of backgrounds.

No longer the preserve of young women or children wanting straight teeth her patients now include executives wanting to boost their careers to retirees wanting a new lease of life in the autumn years.  All share an appetite for more knowledge and to satiate that she has developed a new dedicated website www.invisiblebraces-yorkshire.co.uk.

Dr McCann, who achieved Invisalign Platinum Elite Status earlier this year has created a portal that answers any questions nervous patients may have and helps put their minds at ease as they consider invisible braces that negate the need for embarrassing metal fixings.

Having already helped 1000s of patients achieve better oral health, general wellbeing and more confidence using Invisalign and being a Yorkshire pioneer of the method Catherine is also a passionate advocate of the associated long-term benefits of orthodontic treatment, but she does understand why some people still fear the dentist or the prospect of dental treatment however beneficial.

“There is no one type of patient wanting their teeth straightened but everyone who comes to us wants to know more about about the benefits of orthodontic treatment,” said Dr McCanny.  “We were also keen to provide information for people anonymously to make them feel more comfortable about the process before seeking help or treatment,” she added.

Built with the patient in mind, the website features a ‘Smile Gallery’ and video testimonials from patients who have undergone treatment. This offers patients a visual documentation of what they can expect from the treatment and demonstrates the confidence Invisalign can bring, helping patients to love their smiles again.

Practice Manager Carol Walter, said: “The new website focuses solely on Invisalign which allows patients to research everything they need to know about the features and benefits of Invisalign in one place. The website creates clarity for patients and really helps people to decide whether Invisalign is right for them, ensuring that we are delivering the ultimate standard of patient care at all times.”
